What is Open SaaS?
Open SaaS is a free, open-source starter kit designed to accelerate the development and launch of your SaaS application. Built with React, NodeJS, and Prisma, and powered by Wasp, it provides a robust foundation for modern web apps, especially those leveraging AI. The kit includes pre-configured full-stack authentication that you own, supporting email and social logins out of the box. For monetization, it integrates seamlessly with Stripe, Polar.sh, and Lemon Squeezy, offering ready-to-use checkout flows and webhooks. An admin dashboard with graphs, tables, and analytics (via Plausible or Google Analytics) gives you insights into your business metrics. Additionally, Open SaaS comes with an AI example app, making it ideal for building AI-augmented features. The starter kit is 100% open source and benefits from Wasp's abstractions and opinionated defaults, reducing boilerplate and speeding up development. It also includes custom agent rules, skills, and tools for AI-assisted coding, making it perfect for the AI era. Use cases include launching MVPs quickly, building marketplace platforms, or creating subscription-based services. Technical details: React frontend, NodeJS backend, Prisma ORM for database management, and Wasp's framework for full-stack reactivity. The community is active, with responsive support and extensive documentation. Developers praise its efficiency, with some reporting MVPs built in days and deployed on Fly.io in minutes. Whether you're a solo founder or a team, Open SaaS provides a scalable, maintainable, and feature-rich starting point for your next SaaS venture.
