What is Harken?
Harken is a powerful tool designed to help Spotify users recover and track songs that have disappeared from their playlists. The core problem Harken solves is the frustration of losing a song you loved from Spotify's auto-shuffling playlists, such as "Made for You" or daily mixes. These playlists change frequently, and if you forget to save a track, it can be lost forever. Harken automatically tracks your playlists, recording daily snapshots of their contents. This allows you to see every addition and removal made to each playlist over time. You can restore any playlist to a previous version, so if you liked how a playlist looked last week, you can bring it back. Additionally, Harken provides insights into your listening habits, showing which songs appear most frequently across your playlists. The tool is ideal for music enthusiasts, playlist curators, and anyone who wants to keep a historical record of their Spotify library. It works by connecting to your Spotify account and monitoring your playlists in the background. Technical details: Harken uses the Spotify Web API to fetch playlist data and stores it securely. Users can view changes through a clean interface, with options to filter by date or playlist. The service is currently in development, with a "Coming Soon" status, and users can join a waitlist or send messages for updates. Harken is built by Coner Murphy and aims to provide a seamless experience for music discovery and preservation. Whether you're a casual listener or a power user, Harken ensures you never lose track of your favorite songs again.
