What is RollSummary?
RollSummary is a dedicated AI tool designed to streamline the post-game workload for tabletop roleplaying game enthusiasts. The primary task is converting audio recordings of RPG sessions into accurate transcripts and then distilling those transcripts into clear, actionable summaries. The AI is trained on RPG-specific vocabulary, so it understands terms like 'natural 20,' 'saving throw,' and 'milestone leveling,' ensuring that the summaries retain the flavor of the game.
After you record your session using any voice recording app, you upload the audio file to RollSummary. The AI processes the audio using advanced speech-to-text algorithms optimized for multi-speaker environments. It can differentiate between the Game Master and players, assigning dialogues to the correct speakers if you provide labels. Once transcribed, the summarization engine kicks in, identifying key plot points, important dice rolls, character decisions, and loot acquisitions. The summary is output in a structured format: a quick overview, a bullet-point list of events, and a detailed timeline with timestamps for reference.
RollSummary is particularly useful for campaigns that span many sessions, as it maintains a cumulative summary that grows with each upload. You can tag NPCs, locations, and quests, making it easy to search past sessions. The tool also exports transcripts and summaries to plain text, Markdown, or PDF for sharing with players or for personal archives. The $10 price is a one-time payment, granting lifetime access without subscription fees. This makes it a budget-friendly solution for any RPG group, from weekly D&D crews to monthly Call of Cthulhu investigators.
Users praise its ability to capture jokes and mood, not just dry facts, resulting in summaries that are enjoyable to read. The interface is simple and focused, with no unnecessary frills. RollSummary is a must-have for any roleplayer who wants to preserve the epic stories of their campaigns without the tedious chore of manual note-taking.
