What is Arnismc?
Arnis is a free and open-source desktop application that transforms real-world geographical data into playable Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition worlds. With an easy-to-use interface and customizable settings, it recreates streets, buildings, landmarks, and terrain from any location on Earth, bringing your favorite places to life in Minecraft. Whether you want to explore your hometown, recreate a famous city skyline, or build a survival world based on real mountains, Arnis makes it possible in minutes.
Key features include an interactive map with a rectangle selection tool, allowing you to choose any area on Earth. You can generate a new world or add to an existing one. The tool supports both Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions. For mobile users, a paid online generation service called MapSmith runs directly in your browser, no download needed. MapSmith can generate regions up to 500 km², roughly eight times the size of Manhattan, and its optimized servers are faster than typical home computers.
Arnis is ideal for educators teaching geography, builders creating realistic city maps, or anyone who wants to explore real places in Minecraft. Technical details: it uses open geographical data and is licensed under Apache 2.0. Downloads are available for Windows, Linux, and macOS via the official GitHub repository. The project is maintained by a solo developer in their free time, and donations are appreciated to support ongoing development. While the desktop app is completely free, the online generation service has a paid tier to cover server costs. Overall, Arnis bridges the gap between the real world and Minecraft, offering a unique and immersive experience.
