What is ModernMT?

ModernMT is a neural machine translation platform that provides high-quality, context-aware translations for businesses and localization professionals. It leverages adaptive machine learning to learn from user corrections and domain-specific data, continuously improving translation accuracy over time. The platform supports over 100 language pairs and integrates seamlessly with popular CAT tools like Trados Studio and memoQ, as well as APIs for custom workflows. Lara is built on a domain-specific Large Language Model, delivering higher AI quality, document and media support (including images and audio), and an expanding ecosystem of integrations. ModernMT users are encouraged to migrate to Lara by the end of 2026 to benefit from improved performance and new features. The migration process is straightforward: users can contact Translated to confirm their migration path, transfer their translation memories and glossaries without data loss, and swap the ModernMT plugin for the Lara plugin in their CAT tools. Existing ModernMT API keys will continue to work until December 31, 2026, but users should generate a new Lara API key and update their integrations before that date. Lara offers dedicated plans for different usage levels, ensuring a smooth transition for all ModernMT users.
