What is PocketPaw?

PocketPaw is a self-hosted, open-source AI agent that puts you in complete control. Unlike most AI agents that require complex setup with Docker, OAuth, and dozens of configuration files, PocketPaw installs in 30 seconds with a single command. No Docker, no tunneling, no config files—just one command and you're ready. Your API keys are never stored in plain text; instead, they are encrypted using Fernet AES with a machine-derived PBKDF2 key, providing real encryption rather than base64 obfuscation.

PocketPaw is modular by design. You start with the core and add channels only as needed: Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, and a web dashboard. The same agent maintains context across all channels, so you can switch seamlessly. It supports multiple AI backends including Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI, and Ollama for fully local inference, enabling $0 API costs with local models.

Security is paramount. PocketPaw employs a secondary LLM to review dangerous commands before execution, a 3-tier tool policy with deny-lists, and append-only JSONL logging with severity levels for tamper-evident audit trails. Every tool execution is logged, and the agent's terminal, file, browser, and API key access are protected by robust architecture.
