What is Unlost?
Unlost is a structured 6-week program designed to help high school seniors and recent graduates navigate the transition from school to the next phase of life. Through six weekly 1:1 sessions with a trained near-peer facilitator—someone who has recently gone through the same process—participants receive personalized guidance to build a concrete post-school plan. The program covers key areas such as career exploration, college applications, gap year planning, trade school options, and financial aid navigation. Each session is tailored to the individual's interests and goals, ensuring that the plan is actionable and realistic. One of the standout features is the development of contingency pathways: participants learn to create backup plans for various scenarios, reducing anxiety about the unknown. By the end of the program, students walk away with a clear roadmap, a list of next steps, and the confidence to execute their plan. The near-peer facilitator model is particularly effective because facilitators are relatable and understand the current challenges students face, having recently experienced them themselves. This creates a safe, non-judgmental space for open discussion. Unlost is ideal for students who feel overwhelmed by the multitude of choices after high school or who lack a clear direction.
