What is Epsilon?

Epsilon is an AI-powered search engine designed specifically for scientific research, enabling researchers to cut down hours of literature review to just minutes. By scanning over 200 million papers, Epsilon provides instant, evidence-based answers with inline citations, making it an invaluable tool for academics, students, and professionals. The platform supports four core functionalities: Investigate, Search, Validate, and Synthesize.

With the Investigate feature, users can ask any research question, and Epsilon retrieves relevant passages from scientific literature, summarizing them into a ChatGPT-like response that includes direct references. This accelerates the discovery of key insights without manually sifting through dozens of papers. The Search function allows users to find publications and patents, with results grouped into categories such as latest research, key texts, and most relevant articles. Users can open papers directly or save publicly available PDFs to their personal library.

The Validate feature enables users to extract information from multiple papers simultaneously. By entering a question or claim, Epsilon scans the top search results and extracts pertinent data from each document, facilitating meta-analyses, citation gathering, and evidence evaluation. This is particularly useful for systematic reviews and literature synthesis. Finally, the Synthesize feature lets users upload papers, and Epsilon provides comprehensive summaries, saving time on reading full texts.

Epsilon is ideal for researchers in any scientific field, from biomedicine to social sciences, who need to stay updated with the latest findings or conduct thorough literature reviews. Its ability to handle complex queries and provide cited answers enhances research credibility and efficiency. However, note that Epsilon will shut down on April 30, 2026, so users should plan accordingly. Despite this, it remains a powerful tool for accelerating scientific discovery and improving research productivity.
